Happy Valentine's Day (weekend!)
Cara Cara Orange, Raspberry Chardonnay...Chardonnay cake, filled with raspberry orange curd, topped with cara cara orange frosting & a raspberry coated in sugared cara cara orange zest. Cara Cara oranges are so beautiful inside..they are a ruby red grapefruit crossed with a valencia orange.
Drumstick in cupcake form...seriously, this tastes just like a drumstick, except not cold - maybe I should freeze some? Vanilla cake, filled with fudge, topped with vanilla bean frosting, dipped in chocolate and sprinkled with chopped peanuts.
Mocha Mint...chocolate cake, filled with espresso mousse, topped with fresh mint infused frosting, mint chocolate shavings & a chocolate covered espresso bean
Vanilla Anise...vanilla cake, filled with vanilla anise pastry cream, topped with anise frosting & anise caramel. The Reagan Ranch ordered cupcakes for part of the 100 year celebration of his birth. President Reagan loved black licorice jelly beans, which is what inspired this flavor. We topped their cupcakes specifically with a black licorice jelly bean in lieu of the caramel. Happy 100th, President Reagan!
Cherry Chardonnay...Chardonnay cake filled with chopped cherry & mascarpone mousse, topped with cherry frosting
The "ugly"...Chocolate cake, with chocolate chip cheesecake baked inside, topped with peanut butter frosting, whipped cheesecake & chocolate sauce. When Kevin first came up this flavor & described how it should be executed, I responded, "that sounds like it's going to be really ugly". I think I may have been wrong, it looks quite yummy.
Caramel Rocky Road...Chocolate cake, filled with marshmallow mousse & caramel, topped with chocolate frosting, marshmallow, walnuts & caramel
Chocolate Dipped Almond...Chocolate cake, filled with almond butter mousse, topped with almond butter frosting & then dipped in chocolate. Opal ate this cupcake last night and after, gave me a giant kiss and said, "thank you!". I think it's good?
Also on this week's menu is a Pomegranate Lime Chardonnay...chardonnay cake, filled with pom seeds & lime curd, topped with pomegranate frosting & more pom seeds. This will probably be the last pomegranate cupcake until next fall.

This cupcake is literally bursting with blueberries! Blueberry Chardonnay...Blueberry Chardonnay cake, blueberries & cream filling, blueberry frosting & a sugared blueberry on top.
This cupcake started out as a vanilla bean pistachio until Kara had a yummy idea to add lots of caramel to the top and it became, Vanilla Caramel Pistachio ... Vanilla bean cake, filled with pistachio mascarpone mousse, topped with vanilla frosting, salted pistachios & caramel. I was feeling a little insecure about how customers would respond to the pistachios, but after a tasting with a bride I settled down. She came in 100% certain she wanted a chocolate wedding cake. Then she ate this cupcake and decided she wanted a vanilla caramel, pistachio cake :)
This is crumbly apple pie disguised as a cupcake...Vanilla crumble cake, filled with spiced apple "sauce", topped with cinnamon glaze and a bit of vanilla frosting
And another one of Kevin's wacky cupcake flavors, Chocolate Peanut Butter Bananas Foster (so good!)...Chocolate cake, filled with bananas that have been fried in rum, butter & brown sugar, topped with peanut butter & chocolate frosting.
