The Rainbow Wedding on Brides.com

Kelly Oshiro invited us to participate in a rainbow themed inspiration wedding shoot.  I love color, Kelly and Kirsten of Beaux Arts Photographie so I happily said, "yes, please!"  The shoot is being featured over at Brides.com.

We made cupcakes & a cake, adorned with colorul fresh fruit and Kara (my amazing baking assistant) made felt rainbow bunting banners to go around the cake and on the back of chairs).  Head over to Brides.com to see more!

cupcake trailer wedding, Foley winery

Sibohan & Matt are married!

One of the reasons I love having the cupcake trailer at weddings is because we are on-site for the reception and we get to witness all the amazing joys that make up wedding celebrations.  Sibohan & Matt were so amazing to work with and all the wonderful perceptions I had of them were completely validated by the numerous toasts and talk amongst the guests.  They are loved!

my new favorite thing to make...

They are tiny cakes (just 3" round)!  They're filled with yummy stuff and perfect for 2 to share.

Or maybe one for him & one for her :)

thinking outside of the box...

...
...and into the carton!  This is something Kevin is known for!  He's always coming up with inventions and unique ideas (many of them are very wacky!).  He recently came up with a new packaging solution for our mini cupcakes because he got tired of saying..."be careful with this box as the cupcakes can fall over very easily."  He will no longer have to say this!
it's an egg carton, or now known as a cupcake carton!
And the dozen pack splits in half to become the perfect home for our signature cupcake "flight."

a few snapshots

Here are a few quick pics I snapped of new flavors that have been added to our repertoire of nearly 300 flavors~

 1.  Chocolate Bailey's & Cream (chocolate cake, filled with Bailey's & cream pudding, topped with chocolate frosting and Bailey's glaze)

2.  Chili Mango (vanilla cake, filled with chili mango curd, topped with mango frosting and chili sugar)

3.  Caramel White Chocolate (vanilla cake, filled with white chocolate mascarpone mousse, topped with vanilla frosting & caramel)

4.  Whipped Peanut Butter, which is not new, but I had to include the yumminess (chocolate cake, filled with whipped peanut butter mousse, topped with peanut butter frosting, chocolate sauce & a mini PB cup)

labor of love

Elizabeth used to work in our shop and I'll never forget the day she lugged a vintage typewriter in with her.  She was so proud of her find on etsy & I thought maybe she brought it in just to show me, but no - she brought it with her to type every single one of her wedding save-the-dates in between customers!  I knew from that point on that her wedding was going to be a labor of love, full of sweet DIY details and bursting with creativity.

Fast forward to several months later to last Saturday.  I entered her reception location, arms loaded with cake plates & cupcakes, and was immediately enamored with her months of hard work, sourcing, crafting and laboring, all executed perfectly.  Then I got to see her and she took my breath away.  Such a stunning bride, glowing in her gorgeous, hand-crafted dress from Etsy.

Elizabeth and her "girls" headed over to the ceremony site nearby (The Park at Saarloos and Sons) and I set-up the cupcakes and special vegan cake.  Vegan goodies are not in our regular line-up, but Elle trusted me to make her vegan peanut butter chocolate cake, while the rest of the cupcakes were loaded with butter!  Below are some pics from my iPhone.

The banquet room walls were covered from top to bottom in fabrics and collages made from book pages (pages from a Bible were behind the dessert spread).  Elizabeth made book page chandeliers that hung above the sweetheart table, used book pages as table runners, constructed little homes with burlap & book pages, etc., etc.!  I didn't confirm this with her, but I'm pretty confident she did all the florals herself too (aren't the baby artichokes so adorable?)!  You'll see Saarloos & Sons wine on the table tops!  Eric & Elizbeth are wine club members and have been faithful guests at the tasting room since they first opened over 2 years ago.

In addition to all the work I already touched on, Elizabeth and her mom prepared the dinner!  I snuck through the kitchen on my way out and saw her adorable mom in there with her heels literally kicked off!  Truly a labor of love!  Congratulations Elizabeth and Eric!!!!
