peanut butter, cheesecake & chocolate + orange

 

i haven't counted, but we probably have over a dozen varieties of chocolate + peanut butter cupcake flavors, simply because it's my all time favorite combo.  if i had to pick the most popular version, it would be the one we fondly named "ridiculous", but this week's concotion may be a close tie. 

Chocolate Peanut Butter ~ chocolate cake, filled with dark chocolate mousse, topped with whipped peanut butter frosting, a mini peanut butter cup, chopped peanuts & chocolate sauce.

we are also huge fans of whipped up cheesecake stuffed inside the cupcakes, so we probably have over a dozen cheesecake cupcake options also (banana cheesecake, coconut lime cheesecake, peanut butter cheesecake, etc.), but we've never done it like this before...

but, totally & completely new to our offering is a chocolate & orange flavor

Chocolate Caramel Orange ~ chocolate cake, filled with orange curd, topped with chocolate frosting & drenched in caramel

Bottom ~ Strawberry Cucumber Mint Chardonnay...chardonnay cake, filled with strawberry cucumber mint curd, topped with strawberry frosting and puree

Magazines

 

I recently updated our press section.  We are so stoked to be noted in the Spring Issue of Santa Barbara Magazine and in the current issue of C Magazine.  And our cupcake trailer made a pretty big apperance in the second issue of Mollie Makes, which is a hip, fun new craft magazine that just launched in the UK this May, and is now available in the US too!  The magazine is packed full of inspiring handmade, lovely goodness.  Here's a peek:

Bacon Cupcakes

 

I suppose it's not very nice of me to blog about a flavor that was available last week and won't be again until an undetermined time, but they were just to yummy not to share!  Chocolate Creamy Peanut Butter Bacon...chocolate cake, filled with fluffy vanilla mascarpone mousse, topped with peanut butter frosting and crispy maple bacon.

cherry, banana & pistachio

 

On Sunday night Kevin, Opal & I had dinner with Kara & her mom, Barbara.  Barbara and Opal have a special bond over their love for Disneyland, so it makes sense that there would be conversation peppered with Mickey, Sleeping Beauty, Dumbo, etc.  While talking about Disneyland, Barbara reminisced about an ice cream treat she used to get there.  It was called Fantasia and combined cherry, pistachio and banana.  Upon hearing this, Kevin's mouth started watering, and a new cupcake flavor was born...

the most cupcake flavors

 

...If the Guinness Book of Records had this category, would Enjoy Cupcakes win?  After doing some research we believe we can state the following: 

“Enjoy Cupcakes has created more cupcake flavors and combinations than other cupcake shop or bakery!”

Since we opened April 2009 Enjoy Cupcakes has baked 313 flavors to date with no end in site (flavors). Before Enjoy Cupcakes officially opened its doors we discussed creating a set flavor selection / menu.   I remember telling Kevin that if I had to make the same cupcakes every week, I would go nuts.  I wanted to make cupcakes, but I also wanted to constantly be able to experiment in the overall art of baking.  We made the decision to change our flavors every week (except for our signature “Chocolate Blackberry Syrah”).  We must admit in the very beginning some of our regulars were resistant to the changing menu, but after trying new flavors they began to wonder what would be next.  They would then find new favorites and wanted us to keep pushing the envelope.  So that’s what we continue to try and do.  We want to thank all of you for supporting our passion, business and family so that we can continue our quest to find the end of cupcake flavors… if there is one?
