Someone super cool, whom I totally admire, (Jenn of the design inspiring IArtU blog) saw that we were attending and told me she was married at the Smog Shoppe (where Hitched is taking place) so I thought it would be appropriate to share some beautiful, touching & stylish photos from her meaningful day.  Enjoy the wedding, fall in love with the Smog Shoppe and fall in love with Jenn & Josh!

Tears fell when I saw the photo of Josh washing Jenn's feet.  What a humbling way to start a marriage, following the example of Jesus washing the disciples' feet.

Kara & I played around in the kitchen this morning and made some cupcake sammies...

 

PB&J...vanilla cake, layered with blackberry preserves & blackberries, topped with peanut butter frosting

Rocky Road...chocolate cake, layered with marshmallow mousse & chocolate sauce, topped with chocolate frosting, walnuts, marshmallow & chocolate

Strawberries & Cream...vanilla cake, filled with pastry cream, layered with vanilla frosting & strawberries, topped with a vanilla frosting dollop

Chocolate Blackberry...chocolate cake, filled with dark chocolate fudge, layered with blackberry frosting & blackberries, topped with a blackberry & frosting dollop

This week we had 4 new flavors and the one that made me extra happy was the coconut caramel machiatto...vanilla bean cake, filled with coconut caramel & coconut whipped cream, topped with espresso frosting and more coconut caramel.

On Memorial Day I had huge plans - bake cupcakes & then take a nap.  However it was an incredibly beautiful day so Opal & I had a cupcake picnic instead of napping.  

Pictured above is the Chocolate Ollalie Berries & Cream.  We wait all year for ollalie berry season & jump for joy when Angela from Rayberry Farms calls me & tells me they are ready!  It's a short 7 week season so we'll have a more ollalie berry varieties over the next few weeks.

Here is the Cookies & Cream II...chocolate cake with a marshmallow mousse inside, and oreo frosting on top.

Above is a new favorite flavor that will return again soon!!! Vanilla Malt Milkshake...vanilla cake, filled with vanilla bean malt pudding, topped with vanilla malt frosting & chopped whoppers.  It is rich & creamy!

Honey Peanut Butter...vanilla cake, filled with peanut butter mousse, topped with honey frosting & peanut butter honey caramel.   This cupcake began the week as a Apple Peanut Butter & transformed.  The apple flavor got buried by the strong peanut butter so we re-worked it (we constantly adjust to make sure you get the best cupcake!).

We celebrated the beginning of blueberry season with some buttery blueberry cobbler cupcakes!  Blueberry vanilla cake with a cobbler topping, filled with organic blueberry preserves, topped with cinnamon frosting and lemon glaze.  Not only are we celebrating blueberries, we are celebrating blue!
