my 2 new favorites...
Sometimes I have a hard time working the storefront and “selling” cupcakes (THANK GOD FOR KEVIN!). It’s not that I don’t enjoy interacting with customers, meeting new people, catching up with our regulars, etc. Here’s why…People often ask, “did you make these” and for some reason when I answer, “yes” – I just feel awkward. It’s strange for me to say, “this one is so good” because it kind of comes off as arrogant (contrarily, Kevin can sit behind the counter and authentically say, “my wife made these & I think they are so good,” and it’s romantic and lovely). My point, it’s hard for me to “sell” the cupcakes.
But I have to open up, totally unashamed, and say that the dream bar and chocolate peanut butter pretzel cupcakes are insane (there I go sounding conceited, so please forgive me!). Several hours after my baking shift this morning, I actually drove to the shop to be a customer and snag a dream bar cupcake because ever since I ate one yesterday, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about how badly I wanted to eat another one. And just now, I ate not one, but 2 chocolate peanut butter pretzel cupcakes. I am so buried in cupcakes all the time that I typically just eat bites of the new flavors as a quality control obligation, but with these 2 flavors on the line-up this week, I am doomed!
However, after offering 270 cupcakes flavors, I’ve learned that there are flavors and preferences for every individual and you just may not agree with my fondness for dream bar & choc. p.b. pretzel cupcakes :)

You're so cute! I love how humble you are :-) You and Kev are the perfect compliment to one another! SO wish I could try your favorites! Maybe THIS year for my birthday, I'll order a flight. Do you still ship with that crazy freeze dry overnight express deal? That just seems like so much work for you!
you are amazing..i'm still dreaming of the Valentine cupcakes my friend picked up and drove six hours to deliver to me..she was so charmed by you and your amazing cupcakes..now i'm hungry..go get'em!
whatever! you SHOULD be proud of your work. When I was there with my friends, Marelina and Jake, I literally told them.... "umm, these are the best cupcakes I've EVER had" that is coming from a pastry chef. I said, "these cupcakes kick my cupcakes ass" I literally dream about your cupcakes. I'm coming to California again at the end of April/beginning of May and I've already expressed my need for more; therefore, there will be a trip made up there. And now that I know that I can have them delivered... I am doomed to be a big fat fatty b/c I'll never be able to stop eating them!! LOL
Keep up the awesome work! You are a cupcake goddess in my book. :-)
When my husband and I have gone to get cupcakes we've had a great time chatting with your husband. Its more like being invited into someone's home than being sold a "product". That being said--if you DIDN'T think that the cupcakes you made were great (or good) that would be a far bigger problem. Even the best artists have to take a moment to appreciate their own work enough to feel that if someone else saw it that it would be a good representation of their skill. Modesty is certainly one method for continued improvement but it is fantastic that you felt you could share with us which cupcakes you really thought turned out wonderfully.
Any way. Keep up the delicious work!
Can you plllleeeeeaaassseee keep them for another week? I'm out of town and I'll be there a week from Thursday! Dying to try them! :)
You're so sweet. I love your heart! :) Good yummy cupcakes, and you have a sensitive character to go with. Thank you for your good example, and for being honest! :) You guys are awesome.
