labor of love

Elizabeth used to work in our shop and I'll never forget the day she lugged a vintage typewriter in with her.  She was so proud of her find on etsy & I thought maybe she brought it in just to show me, but no - she brought it with her to type every single one of her wedding save-the-dates in between customers!  I knew from that point on that her wedding was going to be a labor of love, full of sweet DIY details and bursting with creativity.

Fast forward to several months later to last Saturday.  I entered her reception location, arms loaded with cake plates & cupcakes, and was immediately enamored with her months of hard work, sourcing, crafting and laboring, all executed perfectly.  Then I got to see her and she took my breath away.  Such a stunning bride, glowing in her gorgeous, hand-crafted dress from Etsy.

Elizabeth and her "girls" headed over to the ceremony site nearby (The Park at Saarloos and Sons) and I set-up the cupcakes and special vegan cake.  Vegan goodies are not in our regular line-up, but Elle trusted me to make her vegan peanut butter chocolate cake, while the rest of the cupcakes were loaded with butter!  Below are some pics from my iPhone.

The banquet room walls were covered from top to bottom in fabrics and collages made from book pages (pages from a Bible were behind the dessert spread).  Elizabeth made book page chandeliers that hung above the sweetheart table, used book pages as table runners, constructed little homes with burlap & book pages, etc., etc.!  I didn't confirm this with her, but I'm pretty confident she did all the florals herself too (aren't the baby artichokes so adorable?)!  You'll see Saarloos & Sons wine on the table tops!  Eric & Elizbeth are wine club members and have been faithful guests at the tasting room since they first opened over 2 years ago.

In addition to all the work I already touched on, Elizabeth and her mom prepared the dinner!  I snuck through the kitchen on my way out and saw her adorable mom in there with her heels literally kicked off!  Truly a labor of love!  Congratulations Elizabeth and Eric!!!!
